Why Customers Love the Vanswe RB408
The RB408 combines full-body training, a 400 lb-rated steel frame, and whisper-quiet operation.
All in a bike that's 80% pre-assembled and backed by a 1-year warranty. It's the low-risk choice for anyone who wants real cardio without the strain.

Comfort & Safety Features
Extra-Wide Non-Slip Pedals
Oversized, textured pedals with adjustable straps keep your feet planted — no slipping mid-ride, no fumbling for footing.
Ergonomic Wide Seat with Lumbar Support
An extra-wide cushion spreads your weight, and the high backrest supports your lower back through the entire ride.
Reinforced Anti-Wobble Steel Frame
Rated for 400 lbs and planted on wide stabilizers — no rocking when you push hard on the arms, no shifting when you climb on or off.
Wide Base, Stable at Any Speed
Arm push-pull creates sideways force leg-only bikes never face, so the RB408's base is set wider to absorb it. Front transport wheels roll it away when you're done.

80% Pre-Assembled — Out of the Box and Riding in Under an Hour
Many of our customers are in their 60s and 70s, or getting back on their feet after knee or hip surgery. The last thing they should be doing is kneeling on the floor, wrestling with the trickiest step of assembly — aligning the linkage tubes that connect the arm handles to the pedal drive.
So we moved that step to the factory. When we designed the RB408, dual-action bikes all shipped those linkage tubes in pieces, left for the customer to figure out. On the RB408, they arrive pre-installed and pre-tuned — an approach Vanswe introduced, built into every unit before it ships.
Vanswe was the first brand to ship a dual-action recumbent with the arm-to-pedal linkage pre-installed and pre-tuned — before us, every bike in this category left those tubes in pieces for the customer to figure out.

What Makes the RB408 Different from Other Recumbent Bikes
1. The Hardest Assembly Step, Already Done
Vanswe was the first to ship the arm-to-pedal linkage pre-installed — the step where assembly usually goes wrong is finished at the factory.
2. Built-In Arm Exerciser
Most recumbent bikes train only your legs; the RB408's moving handlebars make it a full-body session.
3. Train Full-Body, Legs-Only, or Arms-Only
Shared resistance lets you choose how to ride each day — flexibility usually found on $500+ rehab machines.
4. Heavy-Duty 400 lb
CapacityRated well above the typical 250–300 lb standard — more stability for every rider.
5. Senior-Friendly Step-Through Frame
Walk in, sit down — no leg-lifting, no balancing.
6. Ultra-Quiet Belt Drive
Belt drive, no chain — ride at 6 AM without waking anyone.

RB408 vs RB505: Which Full-Body Recumbent Bike Fits You Best?
Both bikes share the same core training system — low-impact leg cardio plus upper-body movement from a supported seat. The RB408 is the focused choice with a low budget; the RB505 builds on the same foundation with a heavier flywheel, ventilated mesh backrest, higher capacity, and a wider fit range built for sharing.
Heavier flywheel for a smoother ride, breathable mesh backrest, 450 lb capacity, and a fit range that covers the whole family.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How difficult is assembly? Can one person do it alone?
Yes — one person, 30–60 minutes. The RB408 ships 80% pre-assembled, including the arm-to-pedal linkage (the hardest step, done at the factory). What's left is the seat, backrest, and console, using the tools in the box.
I'm buying this for my parent or spouse. What should I know?
Most customers assemble it for them in a single visit. After that, daily use needs no setup — step in, sit down, ride. If anything comes up, our US support line is (855) 668-0888, and the 1-year warranty covers free replacement parts.
Why does the left pedal seem to thread the "wrong" way?
The left pedal uses reverse threading — standard on all exercise bikes — so pedaling tightens it instead of loosening it. Turn it counterclockwise to install; the manual shows this in a full-page diagram.
What's the maximum user weight? Is the 400 lb rating real?
The reinforced steel frame is rated for 400 lbs — well above the 250–300 lb standard on most recumbent bikes. The bike itself weighs 86 lbs, which is part of why it stays planted.
What height range does the seat fit?
The sliding seat rail fits users from 5'0" to 6'3". Adjustment takes seconds — no tools.
Can I get both an arm and leg workout at the same time?
Yes. The moving handlebars and pedals share the same 8-level magnetic resistance, so you can train full-body, legs-only (rest your hands on the fixed handlebars), or arms-only.
Is this bike suitable after knee or hip surgery?
Many of our customers ride it during post-surgery recovery periods — the step-through frame, supported seat, and low-impact motion are designed with exactly that use in mind. Check with your doctor or physical therapist on when and how to start.
How does the resistance work?
8-level magnetic resistance, adjusted by a dial, shared between the arms and pedals. Level 1 is gentle enough for recovery days; level 8 is a genuine workout.
Is it quiet? Will it disturb others at home?
Yes — the magnetic resistance and belt drive (no chain) produce only a low whir. Riding while someone sleeps in the next room is normal use, not a stretch.
Does it track heart rate?
Yes — pulse sensors are built into both the handlebars and the side grips near the seat, with your heart rate shown on the LED display.
What does the display show?
Time, speed, distance, calories, odometer, and pulse, on a large easy-to-read LED screen.
Can I move it between rooms?
Yes — front transport wheels let you tilt and roll it without lifting.
What maintenance does it need?
Very little. Re-tighten the bolts every few months and wipe down the seat and console — the belt drive needs no lubrication.
The bike makes noise after assembly — what should I check?
First, make sure all bolts are fully tightened (especially the pedals). Then check that the bike sits on a flat surface. These two fixes resolve nearly all noise issues.
What's the return policy?
30-day hassle-free returns — if it's not right for you, return it in original condition for a full refund or exchange.
Can I replace the seat cushion, pedals, or display if they wear out?
Yes — free under warranty, and available for purchase on our site afterward.
