RB408 Recumbent exercise bike with arm exerciser in a bright home studio setting, showing comfort and safety features including extra-wide non-slip pedals (highlighted close-up), ergonomic wide seat with lumbar support, reinforced anti-wobble steel frame, and wide stable base, with red callout circles pointing to each key component.

Comfort & Safety Features for Home and Senior Users

Extra-Wide Non-Slip Pedals

Oversized, textured pedals with adjustable straps keep your feet planted — no slipping mid-ride, no fumbling for footing.

Ergonomic Wide Seat with Lumbar Support

An extra-wide cushion spreads your weight, and the high backrest supports your lower back through the entire ride.

Reinforced Anti-Wobble Steel Frame

Rated for 400 lbs and planted on wide stabilizers — no rocking when you push hard on the arms, no shifting when you climb on or off.

Wide Base, Stable at Any Speed

Arm push-pull creates sideways force leg-only bikes never face, so the RB408's base is set wider to absorb it. Front transport wheels roll it away when you're done.

Vanswe recumbent exercise bike components arranged on a wood floor, showing an 80% pre-assembled design with only a few parts left to install and a 30–60 minute quick setup process.

80% Pre-Assembled — Out of the Box and Riding in Under an Hour

Many of our customers are in their 60s and 70s, or getting back on their feet after knee or hip surgery. The last thing they should be doing is kneeling on the floor, wrestling with the trickiest step of assembly — aligning the linkage tubes that connect the arm handles to the pedal drive.

So we moved that step to the factory. When we designed the RB408, dual-action bikes all shipped those linkage tubes in pieces, left for the customer to figure out. On the RB408, they arrive pre-installed and pre-tuned — an approach Vanswe introduced, built into every unit before it ships.

Vanswe was the first brand to ship a dual-action recumbent with the arm-to-pedal linkage pre-installed and pre-tuned — before us, every bike in this category left those tubes in pieces for the customer to figure out.

What Makes the RB408 Different from Other Recumbent Bikes

1. The Hardest Assembly Step, Already Done
Vanswe was the first to ship the arm-to-pedal linkage pre-installed — the step where assembly usually goes wrong is finished at the factory.

2. Built-In Arm Exerciser
Most recumbent bikes train only your legs; the RB408's moving handlebars make it a full-body session.

3. Train Full-Body, Legs-Only, or Arms-Only
Shared resistance lets you choose how to ride each day — flexibility usually found on $500+ rehab machines.

4. Heavy-Duty 400 lb
CapacityRated well above the typical 250–300 lb standard — more stability for every rider.

5. Senior-Friendly Step-Through Frame
Walk in, sit down — no leg-lifting, no balancing.

 6. Ultra-Quiet Belt Drive
Belt drive, no chain — ride at 6 AM without waking anyone.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How much assembly is required? Can one person do it alone?

The RB408 ships about 80% pre-assembled, with the arm-to-pedal linkage already installed and pre-tuned at the factory. One person can usually complete the remaining assembly in 30–60 minutes using the included tools.

Why does the left pedal seem to thread the “wrong” way?

The left pedal uses reverse threading, which is standard on exercise bikes, so pedaling tightens it instead of loosening it. Turn it counterclockwise to install it; the manual includes a full-page diagram.

What is the weight capacity and rider height range for the RB408?

The reinforced steel frame is rated for users up to 400 lbs, and the sliding seat rail fits riders from 5'0" to 6'3". Seat adjustment takes only a few seconds and requires no tools.

Can I get both an arm and leg workout at the same time?

Yes. The moving handlebars and pedals share the same 8-level magnetic resistance, so you can train your arms and legs together, use the pedals for a legs-only workout, or focus on your arms.

Is the Vanswe RB408 suitable for seniors or post-surgery recovery?

The step-through frame, extra-wide supportive seat, backrest, and low-impact seated motion can make the RB408 easier to access and use for seniors or people returning to activity. Recovery needs vary, so consult your doctor or physical therapist before beginning exercise after surgery.

How does the resistance work?

The RB408 uses 8 levels of magnetic resistance adjusted by a dial. The resistance is shared between the moving handlebars and pedals, allowing you to choose a gentle session or a more challenging workout.

Is it quiet? Will it disturb others at home?

The magnetic resistance and belt drive operate with only a low whir, making the bike suitable for shared home spaces and early-morning or evening workouts.

Does it track heart rate?

Yes. Pulse sensors are built into both the moving handlebars and the side grips near the seat, with your heart rate shown on the LED display.

What does the display show?

The large LED screen displays time, speed, distance, calories, odometer, and pulse.

Can I move it between rooms?

Yes. Front transport wheels let you tilt and roll the bike without lifting it.

What maintenance does it need?

Very little. Re-tighten the bolts every few months and wipe down the seat and console. The belt drive does not require lubrication.

The bike makes noise after assembly. What should I check?

First, make sure all bolts are fully tightened, especially the pedals. Then check that the bike sits level on a flat surface. These two steps resolve most post-assembly noise issues.

What is the return policy?

We offer 30-day hassle-free returns. If the bike is not right for you, return it in its original condition for a full refund or exchange.

Can I replace the seat cushion, pedals, or display if they wear out?

Yes. Replacement parts are free under warranty and available for purchase on our site afterward.

Terrific Bike in Every Way

This bike is amazing! Really well built for the money! Very easy to assemble, sleek and EXTREMELY QUIET, smooth operation, and very easy on the knees and good for them as well. Comfy seat and backrest, too. Please note on assembly, DO NOT cut the zip tie from the pedals to frame until instructed to do so. Also inspect all packing materials for small parts and do not discard until bike is assembled. I am really enjoying this bike, and you will too!

Best exercise bike

Love my Bike! It is so smoothe and comfortable. It is also very quiet! I am 76 years old and it is a perfect way to exercise for me! The monitor is a perfect way to keep up with my mileage, time, distance, calories and pulse. The wide pedals are also a plus! Highly recommend!

Simple assembly and perfect for exercise routines

Setup was straightforward, and I’ve been using it consistently to manage my knee problems. Walking tends to put too much pressure on my joints, but this bike lets me maintain leg strength without that impact. It’s a solid option for anyone looking to build or preserve lower-body strength without the pounding that comes from walking or running.
